Press Note by Shri Gopinath Munde
in Mumbai on Saturday, April 11, 2009

The UPA government has done nothing for the development of the Dalits, Adivasis and Muslim society; nor have they made any efforts in this directions; criticized Nitin Gadkari, President of Maharashtra BJP while addressing an election meeting at Selu village organized in support of BJP candidate Suresh Waghmare who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Wardha constituency.

Since India attained freedom in 1947 till today the Congress has done nothing for the common people. Neither the poverty has been removed nor have the workers prospered. It has become difficult for the children to get education of medical or engineering streams. The lives of dalits and Muslims have become uncertain due to the policies of the Congress. Gadkari also criticized Congress for having created an atmosphere of mutual distrust by appeasing the communal forces. Making fun of Ramdas Athavale of RPI (Athavale) Gadkari said that by entering into an alliance with Congress – NCP he has landed in a situation of ‘Neither here nor there’ (‘Na ghar ka na ghat ka’).
Nitin Gadkari further commented that the Congress – NCP rule in Maharashtra has only resulted in power scarcity, water scarcity, farmer’s suicides and rising unemployment and appealed the people to teach a lesson to the UPA government and bring back the NDA government to power.
